Positive behaviour support in Perth
Sometimes, behaviour is a person’s way of communicating a need they can’t express with words. This can be due to various reasons, like age, disability, or even situational frustration. Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is a program designed to help caregivers and individuals understand these unmet needs.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an approach that focuses on promoting positive behaviours and improving quality of life.
It aims to understand the reasons behind behaviours of concern and proposes evidence-based strategies to address them effectively. This includes skill development opportunities and building a more capable environment.
As a person-centred NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) provider, we work with our Participants and their circle of support to implement Positive Behaviour Support strategies to improve their wellbeing and quality of life.
How does Uniting WA approach PBS?
At Uniting WA, our approach is based on overarching values including choice, participation, and equality of opportunity. Our team works one on one with each Participant, to develop Positive Behaviour Support strategies that are tailored to their unique needs, and they also offer continual, compassionate support.
