Types of foster care
Full-time foster carer | Full-time foster carers are the primary caregivers for a child in need, offering long-term emotional and practical support. This includes daily routines, schooling, and working with Uniting to help the child reach their full potential. |
Part-time or respite foster carer | Part-time foster carers provide safe and temporary care for children in existing foster placements on weekends, holidays, or even just a few nights. This flexible arrangement makes a big difference by building the child’s support network and giving primary carers a break. Click here to find out more about part-time fostering? |
