Making disability and mental health support accessible to all

Around 1 in 6 (18%) people in Australia – or about 4.4 million – have disability and over 2 in 5 (42.9%) people experience a mental health condition at some point in their life.

Our vision at Uniting is for people with disabilities and mental health conditions to be included in all aspects of community life, feel a deep sense of belonging and have access to the support they need.

We are advocating for:

  • State Governments to play a greater role in supporting people with a disability and people with mental health conditions

  • Increased support for people with disability and people with a mental health condition in the justice system

  • Improved access to safe, affordable and suitable housing across the housing continuum for people with disability and people who need mental health support.
