Uniting Now A Registered Community Housing Provider

Many hours of work have gone into securing this registration, following the previous 2007 Community Housing Registration and Regulation Policy ending on 30 September 2018.

It is a significant achievement for UCW, as it provides certainty that all current assets will remain with us for our programs that include accommodation.

Being a registered provider also places UCW in a position of significant advantage over unregistered organisations when going through the process to secure future tender and funding opportunities.

The Department of Communities website states that: Registration as a community housing provider is instrumental in driving an innovative and long term solution for the community housing sector.

The Community Housing Registration Office maintains a list of providers registered under the Community Housing Regulatory Framework.

The Framework’s vision is for a community housing sector that:

  • Is well governed, well managed and viable.
  • Meets the needs of tenants.
  • Provides assurance to government and investors.
